Five Star Landscapes specializes in turf care maintenance, utilizing only the highest quality, golf course-grade fertilizers and pesticides for our customized Weed & Feed programs. Recognizing that every lawn is unique, we develop tailored maintenance programs to ensure optimal health. We're proud participants of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, IPM uses a variety of methods as part of a pest management program. This approach minimizes damage caused by pests while also minimizing harm to humans, animals, property, and the environment. Smart management decisions and effective IPM begin with properly identifying pests, assessing their populations, and establishing a level of tolerance for their presence. Understanding the pests that could occur and conditions favorable for them helps prevent pest problems.

First application - early spring fertilizer with preemergent crab grass control. We apply high quality granulated fertilizer, to kick start your lawn for the season, with dimension selective herbicide to control crabgrass before it germinates in late June/early July. Applied between mid march to late april (first of May if you live in West Bloomfield due to city ordinance)

Second application - late spring fertilizer with broad leaf weed control. We apply a high quality granulated fertilizer in combination with liquid broad leaf weed control to control those pesky dandelions and other troublesome weeds. Applied in May

Third application - early summer weed & feed. We apply a high quality granulated fertilizer with 25-50% slow release for those hots days, and spot spray any new weeds that have popped up since the last application. This is also the time of year we apply a grub control product to break the grubs life cycle, grub control is not included in our standard 5 application program. If you are worried about grubs or have had problems with grubs in the past please inquire about grub control for pricing. Applied in June/July

Fourth application - late summer/early fall weed & feed. We apply a high quality granulated fertilizer with 25-50% slow release depending on the weather and spot spray any weed that have emerged in the turf. Applied in August

Fifth application - late fall winterization application. We apply a high quality granulated fertilizer to feed the turf and help the plant prepare for winter dormancy. This is also the best time of year to rehab your lawn, including aeration and seeding. Please inquire about seeding and aeration before fall so you can be added to the list for the best timing and results. Applied in September/October
